Do Not Repeat Mistake In Choosing Leader

TANAH MERAH – Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin urged the people of Kelantan today “not to repeat the mistake” in choosing their leaders in the next general election for the sake of the state’s future.

He said they should not gamble on their future as it was they who would become the victims and continue to live in poor condition without anyone defending them if they made the wrong choice.

“To know whether Kelantan has lagged behind or not, just see how many people from the state have migrated out to find employment.

“If Kelantan has progressed like other states, such big migration will not have happened,” he said when opening the new office of Amanah Raya Berhad in Tanah Merah, here today.

Awang Adek, who is also Kelantan Umno deputy chairman, said if the present leaders failed to prosper the state, the people should choose a better one in the coming general election.

“Just see how the Kelantan people are now facing problems like water supply; this is getting more frustrating with the leaders saying it will only be resolved in 17 years,” he said.

Awang Adek said investors had been reluctant to come to Kelantan because of the situation in the state.

“International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed had brought in billions of ringgit of investment into the country but still have not been able to persuade them come and invest in Kelantan,” he added.

Also present at the ceremony was Amanah Raya Berhad chairman, Datuk Dusuki Ahmad, who later presented tithes to about 100 people. – BERNAMA
