Manila, Philippines - A magnitude 5.9 earthquake jolted Luzon around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said intensity 5 was felt in parts of Zambales, while intensity 4 was experienced in some parts of Manila, Bulacan and Pampanga.
Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum Jr. said the earthquake was not strong enough to trigger a tsunami.
“Hindi po yan sapat na lakas para magdulot ng tsunami,” Solidum said.
There were no reported casualties or damage to properties, reports said.
