Sean Penn skeptical about Wyclef Jeans presidential campaign in Haiti (video)

Sean Penn, who has lived in Port-au-Prince Haiti for months to help manage thousands of displaced Haitians living in a camp, has begun to publicly criticize Wyclef Jeans campaign for President of Haiti.

In a statement released to CNN Penn explained, "What the Haitian people need now is a leader who is genuinely willing to sacrifice," I haven't seen or heard anything of Wyclef in these last six months since I've been in Haiti. I think he's an important voice. I hope he doesn't sacrifice that voice by taking the eye off the very devastating realities on the ground."

Penn also brought past allegations to light, in particular the mishandling of funds linked to Wyclef Jeans nonprofit organization Yele Haiti. Penn believes the allegations should be looked into more thoroughly. Wyclef Jean denies the allegations.

Penn also claims that Wyclef Jean hadn't even been in Haiti the last 6 months. He also claims that when he was there he paraded around with a vulgar entourage of luxury vehicles.

Haitian elections take place this year; Jean started his campaign yesterday after his arrival in Port-au-Prince.
