Feds Search For Wikileaks Founder (Julian Assange) at NYC hacker conference

Julian Assange Wikileaks
On Friday morning, federal agents appeared in NYC at a hacker conference, they were looking for Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks. In fact, five Homeland Security agents were spotted at the conference a full day before Assange was scheduled to speak.

The conference organizer, Eric Corley witnessed the federal agents. A conference security officer also stated that after telling the federal agents they needed search warrants to enter the event, several agents paid the $100 admission fee to enter. "If they didn't have a search warrant, they'd have to pay to get in," said Corley. Needless to say, the Feds showed up and Julian Assange didn't, he canceled his appearance.

Assange has not been able to make public appearances in the United States over the last few months due to the appending issues surrounding Wikileaks, although he did make an appearance at Oxford University for the TED Global conference on Friday.

Wikileaks claims to hold over 150,000 diplomatic cables from the State Department's computers which they received from Bradley manning, the US intelligence analyst responsible for leaking the documents to Assange and Wikileaks. Bradley Manning has been charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for disclosing classified information to an unauthorized source (UCMJ article 134)and transferring classified data to a personal computer (article 92).
